Adult ADHD Coaching

Adult ADHD Coaching can help you balance life's daily tasks, work demands, relationships, and responsibilities.

Organization, time management, sleep difficulties, and balancing work, family, and leisure may seem like an impossible task for Adults with ADHD. These can sometimes become a tremendous burden often leading to feelings of overwhelm, procrastination, confusion, self-doubt, and failure.

Adult ADHD Coaching can help.

If left untreated, adults with ADHD have higher rates of divorce and are more likely to be depressed or have low self-esteem. The same types of behaviors that can harm teens with untreated ADHD can impact adults in the same way. Many adults with ADHD aren't even aware that they have it. What they do know is that everyday tasks, like staying organized, getting things accomplished, and staying focused, can be a challenge.

Adult ADHD Coaching Can Mean the Difference
 Between Success and Failure

A certified Adult ADHD Coach who is specifically trained and educated in helping adults with ADHD can provide the support and teach the skills necessary to help you succeed and thrive. A Coach is not a therapist, rather an advocate and partner to help individuals reach their full potential and achieve their goals.

How Does ADHD Coaching Help?

An ADHD Coach collaborates with you to help you achieve the goals you set and help you develop tools and strategies to better manage the steps along the way. It’s genuinely a wonderful process of partnering to help you evaluate your challenges and establish new methods of addressing them.

Coaching usually involves weekly sessions and includes brief check-ins during the week to help with accountability toward your goals.

How Long Does Coaching Take?

This is an understandably common question in anticipating the expense and time needed for coaching. The answer, however, is it depends. Successful coaching outcomes depend on the coach and client creating a mutually respectful relationship based on honest communication, trust, and confidentiality. A coach will not tell you what to do, instead will encourage you to develop personalized and effective solutions.

As the client, you must engage willingly in the coaching process and a readiness to experiment with new strategies and behaviors., which should include a gradual education to figure out what obstacles hinder learning, how ADHD affects thinking.

One month of coaching is usually not enough for lasting change to happen. It takes time to experiment with new behaviors and see if they are useful. Most coaches will suggest three months or a semester to practice problem-solving skills and evaluate solutions.

Sometimes partners need coaching, too, so they can better understand how ADHD, executive function, and emotional challenges impact relationships. To support partners in their role, PTS Coaching also offers couples coaching.
