There is a great need for professional development for educators and other professionals who work directly with students who have ADHD/Executive function deficits.  I have traveled the country providing training for teachers and other professionals in schools and conferences for over a decade.  The impact has been tremendous.  Through this Academy, I am now training others to offer this professional development.

The ADHD Professional Trainer Academy will prepare you to teach and support those who work directly with children grades K-12.  You will be prepared to offer the Professional Development in school districts, at professional conferences (Learning disabilities conferences, Speech/Language conferences, Occupational Therapy conferences, etc.), and in gatherings that you create/host.

You will learn the ADHD & Executive Function: Managing the Impact on Learning, Motivation, and Behavior© course content during this course.  In addition, you will learn how to guide teachers and support professionals through inherent challenges in making systemic changes.

This training program is open to anyone, regardless of teaching background or degree.  As a trained ADHD/Executive Function expert, you will have a lot to offer.

This course INCLUDES  the full ADHD & Executive Function: Managing the Impact on Learning, Motivation, and Behavior© Continuing Education program and is eligible for CEUs.

Classes are from 5:30 pm – 8 pm Eastern Time except for July 11th and Aug. 3rd are from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Eastern Time and July 21st is 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm ET.  These three sessions are for Training Academy participants only.

This course is delivered via a Live-Interactive Webinar over Zoom.  You will be able to interact in REAL-TIME with Instructor Cindy Goldrich and your classmates during the webinar.

Course Details

Upon completing the program, you will be a licensed provider of PTS Coaching, LLC’s ADHD Teacher Training program.  Your renewable license will give you access to my ADHD & Executive Function: Managing the Impact on Learning, Motivation, and Behavior© professional development slides and materials in your own training sessions.  As you train others, you will be able to offer the modules separately or in combination with other modules.

  • The practical and essential information regarding IDEA, MTSS, IEPs, 504 plans and more as they relate to identifying and supporting students with ADHD and Executive function challenges 
  • How to support teachers and other professionals in issues related to collaborating with parents and managing potential conflicts

This module provides participants with an experiential understanding of how learners are impacted by ADHD and Executive Function challenges. You will gain insights into why some students struggle regardless of their intelligence, potential, and desire. Participants will gain strategies to help students deal more effectively with transitions and performance inconsistency. You will learn the latest research and best practices to remediate and support students. We will also explore the implications of medication use for students with ADHD. With this foundation, you will be able to help individual students minimize their challenging behaviors and improve their productivity while balancing the needs of all students in the classroom.

Research has shown us that how we perceive our ability to learn dramatically impacts our confidence, motivation, and perseverance. Participants will learn how personal mindset affects motivation and willingness to learn. We will show how to support students in developing a helpful perspective for facing challenges and acquiring strategies for approaching new and challenging learning opportunities. Participants will learn how to reduce the impact of stress in the classroom to improve student mood, receptivity, and performance.

Help students gain valuable insights into their struggles that often lead to challenging or ineffective behavior or performance.  Learn techniques to strengthen emotional/ self-regulation skills to help students improve problem-solving, performance, and advocacy skills.  Strategies to reduce disruptive behaviors, stress and anxiety will be demonstrated.

Class 5: Open dialogue addressing issues related to training and course content

Participants will gain skills, strategies, and techniques to help students in need at the Point of Performance while balancing the needs of all students in the classroom. Learn to design subtle changes in the environment to improve and support focus, time management, organization, working memory, slower processing speed, motivation, and emotional regulation that will benefit all children, not only those with ADHD. Participants will walk away with new ideas, valuable handouts, and essential resources for teachers, parents, and related service providers to help students perform closer to their true potential.

Students, especially those with ADHD/Executive Function Challenges, often have dreams and desires but lack a concrete plan to realize these wishes. Setting meaningful goals is an impactful way for students to develop and improve self-regulation skills. In addition, research shows that when students set goals and work toward them, they perform better, experience less stress and anxiety, and are happier and more satisfied with their lives. Participants will learn to teach both the value and the process of setting, monitoring, and achieving their goals. Participants will gain specific strategies for engaging students in meaningful conversations around goal setting, establishing a process for choosing realistic goals, and setting the pathway for planning and monitoring the goals.

Moving from theory to practice requires facing the potential challenges and obstacles that often stand in the way.  We will address how to implement the necessary changes and ways to address potential barriers and complications.  We will lay the foundation for action and accountability to create lasting change for educators, students, support providers, and the environment.

How is this class different from the ADHD & Executive Function: Managing the Impact on Learning, Motivation, and Behavior© Continuing Education program?

This class will train you to teach and support teachers and other professionals who work directly with students.  You will be training alongside professionals taking the ADHD & Executive Function: Managing the Impact on Learning, Motivation, and Behavior© for continuing education.  This ADHD Teacher Training Academy course has two additional classes where you will address the specific challenges you will face teaching and marketing to professionals. Who will I be qualified to train?

The ADHD Teacher Trainer Academy will prepare you to teach and support those who work directly with children grades K-12.  You will be able to offer Professional Development in school districts, at professional conferences (Learning disabilities conferences, Speech/Language conferences, Occupational Therapy conferences, etc.), and in gatherings that you create/host.  You will also be able to support parents in helping their children with Executive Function skill development.

Will I have materials for training others in schools, conferences, and individually?

Yes.  Upon completing the program, be a licensed provider of PTS Coaching, LLC’s Teacher Training program.  Your renewable license will give you access to my professional development slides and materials to use in your own training sessions.  As you train others, you will be able to offer the modules separately or in combination with other modules.

Can I also earn Continuing Education Credit by taking this course?

Yes. You will need to satisfy the requirements for your certification or license.  Please see the Earning Continuing Education Credits link for details.

Cindy Goldrich, Ed.M., ADHD-CCSP

Cindy Goldrich, Ed.M., ADHD-CCSP, is a mental health professional, certified ADHD Coach, and training professional. Founder of PTS Coaching, LLC, Cindy is a leading authority on parenting and supporting children with ADHD, Executive Function, and Learning Disabilities. 

Author of 8 Keys to Parenting Children with ADHD, a concise, easy-to-read "crash course" for parents of children with ADHD based on her CalmConnected coaching model. Co-Author of ADHD, Executive Function, & Behavioral Challenges in the Classroom, an invaluable resource for all classroom teachers full of real, practical, and powerful insights, tools, and activities.

Cindy received her Master's in Education in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University, Teachers College, and ADHD coach certification from the Institute for the Advancement of ADHD Coaching. She has trained with Dr. Edward Hallowell and Dr. Ross Greene. She is a regular contributor to ADDitudemag.com, CHADD's Attention magazine, and a guest on several industry-leading podcasts.

This course meets for eight classes.  Classes One and Eight are for only ADHD Teacher Training Academy participants.  Classes, Two through Seven, are for Academy members and participants taking ADHD & Executive Function: Managing the Impact on Learning, Motivation, and Behavior for CEUs or Graduate Professional Development Credit.  Class One and Eight are 2-hours.  Classes two through seven are 2.5 hours.

During each class, brief homework is assigned to reflect on and deepen your learning.  Generally, about two to three paragraphs of writing each session are expected.

You will be assigned a training partner from the class to meet with for weekly discussion and practice.  The expectation is to speak with your partner for one hour per session.

You may be eligible to earn CEUs while taking this training.  Please check with your profession’s continuing education requirements before registration.  If your license or certification requirements are not listed in the Earning Professional Development Credits, please contact Cindy Goldrich for options.

Class is offered over the Zoom platform.  You are requested, though not required, to have your video camera on to maximize involvement.  

Each class is recorded for future review.  

Please notify PTS Coaching in advance of the class of any planned or emergency absences.

The required reading for this class is ADHD, Executive Function, & Behavioral Challenges in the Classroom: Managing the Impact on Learning, Motivation, and Stress. Note that this book is not included in the course fee.

The optional readings are: Lost at school: Why Our Kids with Behavioral Challenges are Falling Through the Cracks and How We Can Help Them by Ross Greene and Metacognitive Student: How to Teach Academic, Social, and Emotional Intelligence in Every Content Area by Richard Cohen. 

For those also pursuing CEUs, be prepared to spend one hour outside of class reviewing and doing the required reading.

For those also pursuing Graduate PD Credit, be prepared to spend two hours outside of class reviewing materials, doing the required reading, and composing your homework responses.  In addition, you will be required to write three lesson plans and one 5-minute presentation.  See Graduate PD Rubric for grading details.

Completion of this course for those wanting CEUs or Graduate PD Credit requires a minimum passing grade of 80% on the post-course exam and completing the course evaluation form.

Teacher CE credit:

This course is approved for 1.5 CE credits from Adams State University, CONT 9589.  The tuition fee to Adams State Univ. is $40 for 1.5 CEUs. Students must register for the course prior to the end of the semester in which they are enrolled.

Teacher Graduate Professional Development credit:

This course is approved for 1 Graduate Professional Development from Adams State University, ED 589. The tuition fee to Adams State Univ. is $55 for one Graduate PD Credit.  For pay scale advancement or re-licensure, it depends on your school district. Most districts require graduate-level transcripts from an accredited University (like Adams State University) in order to move up the pay scale. Check with your district. Students must register for the course prior to the end of the semester in which they are enrolled.

AOTA CEU Credit:

PTS Coaching, LLC has an application pending approval as an AOTA Approved Provider of professional development. This Distance Learning - Interactive course is offered for 15 contact hours or 1.5 CEUs in the AOTA Category of Foundational Knowledge.  Course Level: Intermediate.  AOTA does not endorse specific course content, products, or clinical procedures.

NBCC CEU Credit:

PTS Coaching, LLC has an application pending approval by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) as an Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP).  Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified.  PTS Coaching, LLC is solely responsible for all aspects of the program.  This course will offer 15 NBCC clock hours.

Note: All of the training materials are intellectual property owned by PTS Coaching, LLC and its founder, Cindy Goldrich.  Participants agree that there shall be no duplicating, replicating, or otherwise reproducing the materials for the use of anyone other than expressed by Cindy Goldrich and PTS Coaching, LLC.

If I am also taking the class for CEUs, when will the course completion certificate be issued?

Upon completion of the course, attendees will receive an email from PTS Coaching that will contain a link to complete the seminar evaluation.  Once completed, attendees will receive an emailed certificate.  PTS Coaching, LLC has a permanent record-keeping system for retaining participants' names and CEUs earned for a minimum of 7 years from the completion date of the course offering.  PTS Coaching, LLC has a system to ensure the privacy and security of participants' records.  If at any time you need to replace a certification, please contact us, and we will be happy to email you a new certificate.  Fee for replacement certificate: $25.

What is your policy if I need to cancel my registration?

Our goal is for you to be 100% satisfied with your continuing education experience with us.  If you contact us more than five days before the event date, you can have a tuition refund, less a $30 cancellation fee.  Cancellations received within five business days of the course date are non-refundable, but a credit will be issued for a future seminar, webinar, or online course.  Rescheduling for a later program is permitted at any time.

If you withdraw from the course before the 2nd class, we will refund 95% of the payment received.  After that time, we offer a prorated credit towards a future course.  No credits will be provided after the 5th week, except under special/emergency circumstances.

What is your policy if PTS Coaching, LLC needs to cancel the program?

PTS Coaching, LLC will notify participants at least two weeks before a training cancellation unless an unforeseen emergency deems it necessary to cancel a class in short order.  Course fees will be refunded to each participant or applied to a future course at the participants’ discretion.  A full refund or credit will be issued if a seminar is canceled by PTS Coaching, LLC due to weather, instructor illness, travel issues, technical issues, or other unforeseen issues.
